This Just In!
Greetings from K.U.C.H.I.N.G, peeps!
Some quick pics via my trusty mobile phone from Kuching. Most are in my digicam, so.. patience is a virtue, my adoring picture-hungry blog fans!! :-p
This was supposed to be a hell of a hectic business trip, but with the relaxed lifestyle the Kuching-ites are living here, its kinda brushed off on me and I'm pretty much enjoying my time here.... Neways, in about 3 hours, I'll be flight-bound to the Land Below The Wind... More happy snapping then!
Touchdown on Sarawak soil..Riverside... I'm putting up at Crowne Plaza Riverside.
Wonderful long stretch of smelly waters...
This is the life!!
Art Attack!!
This just happened last weekend.
Latest activity in D'House (for the un-initiated, D'House is the official name for my office building) involved loads of colour, dirty hands and little homo sapiens of varying shortness.
After some "complaints" of the stairways in the building being dull and colourless, the people of D'House brought colour and hues into the office stairways, and made possible by the children of the staff.
It must have been a crazy morning (I was not there due to a bout of the bugs) and what was a mundane looking flight of stairs was transformed into a myriad of colours come midday Saturday. And after all the laughter, shrieks and giggling, the end result was something every lil kid who participated would have been proud of...
Nature-themed artwork..Boring staircase no more...Underwater marine staircase...Colourless head proves the giraffe is taller than the kids..This is one of the reasons I love working in D'House. The place doesn't feel like a cold building where you just turn up every morning, work and go home when its time. It really does feel like D'House to be in.
Yippee! I'm lovin' it!
Of No Shows & Testicular Ca
"Man hospitalized BEFORE run".... Bloody hell.
It hit me like a tonne of bricks on Friday night. Body-aches, headache, running nose, cough, even my limbs felt numb and weak. No shit, there goes my run I told meself.
So I proceeded to sms my buddy (who I coaxed into joining the run, and he agreed after MUCH pondering) to tell him I most probably wouldn't be able to make it to the run. His reply (unedited): a$$hole!! I don't care if ur down with testicular cancer. U dragged us into this...
Yea, he's my buddy.
So to cut a long story short, neither of us showed up for the run. I'm real pissed that this happened, coz I really wanted to do it (seriously!). So, while I go recuperate and calm my pissed self down, this blog will be tempoarily suspended until further notice.
Lung-busting
Its less than a week away.... Guess wat people, its gonna be my first 10km run since I had my knee cut-up in May... And I sure as hell am gonna finish it, even if it means dragging my fat-ass over the finish line.
My target? To finish without walking or stopping in less than 1hr 20 mins.
But seriously, I'm not well prepared. True, I've been to the gym kinda frequently, but I haven't run on road in a long long time. And I'm not to sure how my knee is gonna stand up to the pounding. I'll find out Sunday.
And if you don't see any posts on Monday, check out the local dailies for any article with the headline: "Man hospitalized after run"
And when you come visit, don't bring flowers, I prefer chocolates.
Gastronomic Delights!!
Whoa! It has been a week of eating and eating and stuffing myself silly. And its all courtesy of the female version of Gordon Ramsay..... Chef Jaclyn.
I bloody hell think I gained 2 kilos over the course of 3 mains. And yeah, thats a compliment.
It all started off with a bread-making class during the weekend. Yea, you heard right: bread-making. Whatever will she go to next? Lasagna lessons?
Hands on baby...
Cheese and sausage rolls..
Chicken floss... ala.. Bread Story
Home made RotiBoy?
So, it was a weekend and Monday breakfast of carbo-loading (there goes all my rippling muscles...).
*Note: I'm not walking into another bakery for the next 2 weeks*Next up was more of a healthy fix-up. A dinner extravaganza consisting of a fruit salad and..... nothing else. But the fruit bowl was smashing. The slight tanginess of th kiwi complemented the tanginess of the dragonfruit, which in turn really went well with the tanginess of the red grapes. So it was a real tangy tango treat.
Fruit salad... dragon fruit, kiwi and red grapesThe culmination of it all was yesterday's dinner menu.
Starters: A kiss from the chef
Main course: Pan-fried dory with seared broccoli, baked tomatoes and chips
Dessert: Cleaning up by the chef's hubby
Pan-fried dory with seared broccoli and chipsAnd baked tomatoes
Lovely. Now its time to burn it all off. Wish me luck.
L.A.Z.Y
I'm just plain lazy these days.
